Sin part 1 by John Fichtner

  1. Those who backslide do so because they believe that there is something of self that satisfies.

  2. Those believing Jesus is satisfiying and yet thinking sin satisfies or that they in control is good guarantee that they will backslide

  3. Sin takes away your ability to think – II Corinthians 13:4 and Ephesians 4:18-19

  4. Every person that follows Christ – there are times they cannot see the Goodness of God (it’s called faith).

  5. Stubborn people believe being stubborn makes their life more stubborn.

  6. Negative people think by being negative they’ll make the world more positive

  7. Angry people believe anger makes them stronger and makes people respect them more

  8. James 1:15 – SIN will sucker you and takes years to reach its full effect .

  9. When you love someone, you do what is best for them – not what pleases them.

  10. Sin is addictive – and the only thing more addictive than sin is being used by Christ …PURPOSE.

  11. When your passion is for Jesus to bless you, you’re guaranteed that Jesus will never bless you because your focus is on “Me” – and Jesus’s passion is where you serve someone else and all you get is pain or they get blessed.

  12. You cannot love or do what God wants in your own power – it takes Jesus working through you.

Sin Part 2 by John Fichtner

  1. Team is the secret to do something well.

  2. God will speak to you when you ask God “Show me how I can encourage them.”

  3. 2 questions God likes to answer: “God show me how I’m wrong in the situation” and “God show me how to encourage.”

  4. Getting my life together is meant to be a BYPRODUCT

  5. Parenting grows us up more than anything.

  6. Ministry is meant to hurt because Pain teaches us

  7. If I give to someone and it costs me/it hurts and God requires it, give it gladly.

  8. If you try to reach the hurting rather than the hungry, I Peter 2 says that suffering for doing wrong is stupid.

  9. It’s not that God doesn’t speak, but rather that we try to control conversation

  10. You grow in Christ when you serve/ask God to move through you.
